This Is All There Is When There Is All This

A performance created with a large ensemble of bodies, moving in an orchestrated chaos. Each body explores the idea of the ‘loop’, of re-living a series of choreographic movements again and again. The body’s loop is incremental, with every new cycle offering a subtle shift in each performer’s reality – through absence, addition, image, emotion, interaction. The bodies may meet, collide, and sometimes nearly miss each other. The performance empowers the bodies to keep fighting for their loop across space, craving to complete their movement against all odds – as a means to resist being subsumed by the collective ideology. As the choreography accumulates, the ‘loop’ also morphs into a wider collective concept: such as a compositional recurrence, or a contradictory placement of simultaneous visual narratives, or an automated geometry in space which develops through measured time frames. The experience of time becomes simultaneously personal/fictional, as well as real/enforced. The spectator’s eye delights in both – the familiar and the surprising.
